The inner bark of the large canopy Tabebuia trees, known as Pau D'Arco, is indigenous to the Amazon Rainforest and various regions of South America. For centuries, this inner bark has been held in high regard by the Incas, Aztecs, and other indigenous tribes due to its potent healing properties. Revered by the Incas as an early "cure-all," Pau D'Arco was utilized for a wide range of ailments. For at least a thousand years, it served as one of the primary medicines for the Incas.
